I rushed home last night, Delia's advice in hand, fully intending to make the tour de force of pancakes. It will be easy i thought, just whisk all the ingredients together and whack it in a hot pan. Well, how wrong was i:

Now I know what you are thinking; 'that's just scrambled eggs surely'. Well, admittedly I did put too many eggs in the first batch and it did taste a little bit like an omelette.
I attempted another batch, with a whisk in one hand and a phone in the other, ringing my mother to get advice on how to produce the beautifully crafted oval masterpieces she can make. Well that didn't work either, and they ended up as bad:

A bad workman always blames his tools and rather than blame myself I have to say that the pan I used could have made a nice profit at the Antiques Roadshow. That aside though, I think I will have to go back to the drawing board!!!

Look mate i'm working at rbi sorting out blog tags and i came across your pitiful disaster, being 1/2 italian and a master pancake prodigy it pains me to see what you've done - here's how u do it easy:
crack 2 eggs in a blender
add 1/2 a pint of milk
a touch of sugar (read 1 teaspoon)
turn the blender on
slowly pour in flower until u get the right consistency?
How do u know this i hear u muse,
easy, it should be less runny then a gastric explosion not as sticky as honey
stop the blender, pour the mix on a hot pan that is unblemished with scratches and has had some butter melted in it (1 teaspoon spread over the pan) preferably non stick, then ull know weather ur batter is too thin or too thick. easy
ill leave the flipping to u
oh replenish the butter every 2/3 pancakes!!
.....delia smith?.......sad
