There has been plenty of talk of unusual pancake toppings this week, but now I bring you a great tale of something that happened during the recent Farm Women's Club annual February trip to Stratford-Upon-Avon.
Miss Deputy News Editor told me that during their meal on Sunday lunchtime, the group had a selection of desserts to choose from.
One particular dessert, that the husband of Mrs Farmlife ordered, was a dish of ice cream which came with what should have been a dribble of fresh raspberry coulis.
As he began to eat the dessert however, he quickly realised that the raspberry sauce tasted a little odd; more suited to a main course rather than a dessert.
He took another taste and realised with bemused wonder that the sauce was actually tomato ketchup rather than fresh coulis.
It then transpired that the apple pie, some of the others were eating, also came with a side-order of sauce.
The kitchen was quick to apologise and swap the offending puddings - although one member of the group stuck with it and polished the lot off!
