I am not in nature a suspicious person but something happened in the office today that has me question this a little.
Mr Deputy Machinery editor is an Irishman, and so today's game of cricket between England and Ireland is a momentous match.
He placed a friendly bet on the match, saying that England would win the toss, choose to bat, and that Ireland would get a wicket within the first 3 over's.
A confident bet, you would agree!! Some would say even a little foolish (guessing by the giggles in the office many would have said foolish).
Sense our utter amazement then (and his excitement) when all those events conspired to happen, with even an ex-Harper Adams student taking the first wicket.
Some would call this the luck of the Irish. I would say something dodgy is going on!!
