Graminicides success

THIS AUTUMN is producing exceptionally good results in pinpointing graminicides to tackle grassweeds in herbage seed crops, says TAG.

Significant NFU funding is helping the Andover, Hants-based Herbage Seed Agronomy Centre screen 10 herbicides on 11 grass species, says TAG’s Tim Mayhew, who manages the trials.

“Controlling weeds in grass-seed production crops is a major headache and the excellent conditions this autumn will produce superb information.” Flufenacet is being evaluated in some detail, he adds.
