Farmers and industry experts have all expressed concerns the UK egg market may be undercut by cheap Eastern European eggs come the 2012 conventional cage-ban but PW's sleuths can reveal Polish eggs are ALREADY on sale in the UK...albeit in a Polish shop in Sutton.

Not that I am a deft hand in reading Polish but I interpret this is their classification method for eggs...

Which leads me to deduce these are cage eggs (from the '3').

And this is a recipe.

But as much as I am impressed by the similarities with our home grown eggs I don't know if I'm too happy with Poland's egg washing standards...

Hmmh, might just stick to Lion Eggs...bad luck Swiezych Karkonoskich!
