Turkeys that look like vultures

Martha writes:

have had to move our turkeys from their rearing shed into something a lot bigger as they have started to escape.

We have 50 at the moment which are for Christmas, but we are taking orders already so I think that we will probably have to get some more.

At the moment they don’t look very big, but by Christmas some of them could weigh about 24lb which is a lot.

We also have some large black American turkeys which are huge and ugly and I think that they look just like vultures and I am not quite sure why we have got these.

On Thursday it was my birthday and I was 11.

I got loads of really nice presents and my grandma made me a Shaun the Sheep birthday cake. It was really cool, he is one of my favourite things at the moment, I have all the magazines and I got a Shaun the Sheep which you plug your ipod into for my birthday.

This week Young Farmers will be starting again which I am really pleased about as we get to do all sorts of fun things.

We meet on a Monday night every week at the local village hall and sometimes we have a business meeting and sometimes we go off doing various things, we will find out on Monday night what we will be doing the next week so that will be something to look forward to.

My dad has been busy drying beans this week, they look like broad beans and when he has finished drying them they are so hard you cant even bite into them, these are then sent abroad.
