The conference is winding up and I'm about to cut and run.
I've really enjoyed the two days here. It's a funny old industry that we work in, there are some seriously eccentric characters and I've heard a few pearlers that I can share with you another day. There are plenty of challenges ahead but the industry seems on a pretty even keel. The tide of public and government opinion has turned in our favour somewhat.
Highlight of the conference was being cornered in the bar at 1.30am by a few West Country turd hurdlers (that's livestock farmers) who mistook me for Hugh Broom. One of them said "You're the last famous person left in the bar. You work on Capital Radio, don't you?"
They followed this up with "Do you know Tim Relf? That man is a legend"
