Wait a Minute

Waitrose have announced that they are launching a value range and cutting prices on fresh produce.  (Heaves shoulders and sighs in a theatrical way).

This shows how serious “The Crunch” TM has now become.  What next?  Are Rolls Royce going to bring out a “budget” vehicle to compete with the Kia Picanto?  Is Rolex going to bring out a plastic, digital calculator watch?

Presumably Mark Price knew about all this when he spoke at the NFU conference (and when I did my over-excited interview with him) but decided that it was not the ideal place to start spouting about it.

Waitrose may be one of the fairest supermarkets to work with but they are still a supermarket.

Perhaps we should think of bringing out a budget version of the Noos Revue. We could take it to the masses then.

What? I thought that WAS the economy version of the Noos Revoo.

What are you going to cut back on for goodness sake? Is the mug going? You can’t get rid of the laptop else Caroline and Phil Clarke’s Business blog won’t have anything to look at if they get bored halfway through the broadcast.

I suppose that you could recycle the paper that your script is on (providing no one has stood on it) or maybe we could manage with one less note on the trumpet at the start.

Altogether now “Da dat da dada”

What!? I had a phone this week – did you not see it? They don’t grow on trees. And Phil CBB had a rather nice jacket. That didn’t come cheap.

And, to be frank, Caroline’s make-up budget is huge (can’t you tell?). You call yourself a fan of ‘the show’ (like the way I’m trying to build it up) but it is clear that some of its finer touches are lost on you… :)
