Charlie has written his report about our trip to Africa It’s well worth a read.
This is why he is the Farmer of the Year; he gets stuff done. I haven’t finished writing mine yet and I won’t have time to finish it until the weekend. I was always late with my homework.
I am struggling to keep on top of things at work. We have building contractors working on four different projects on four different sites, we are harvesting flowers in five different fields and packing and delivering them, we are installing the new bulb packing machinery, we are preparing bulb harvesting machinery ready to make a start and today I had to walk all the potatoes and bulbs with our agronomist and meet the accountants to go through a few details about last years accounts.
I had a quick conversation with Jules today and we reflected (bitterly) on how much easier our lives would have been if we had drilled our entire farms with wheat and oil seed rape.
