One small step for a bull, a giant leap for British farming

Sauvignon continues to dominate the Limousin cattle classes here at SIMA, having clinched the senior and overall male championships.

Owner Raymond Crawford told Taking Stock the win was a monumental achievement and was more than he could have ever hoped for when he left for Paris.

Now all they need to do is convince DEFRA to let Sauvignon back into the UK and they'll have the job sussed - however, the chances of that happening are about as slim as landing a bull on the moon. But then again according to the nursery rhyme a cow did jump over the moon, so maybe DEFRA will come up trumps after all!!

Bring on the Brits all we need to do now is win the Rugby Six Nations!!!!!

Well done Mr Crawford

Jonathan

Got a funny feeling the French have the Six nations wrapped up for this year, but here's hoping they choke on home turf later this year when they host the IRB World Cup.

As for Sauvignon's win, well what a way to mark British livestock's first foray into European showing in recent years. Suffice to say the atmosphere among the Brits at SIMA yesterday was buzzing, there was no where I'd have rather been at 3pm yesterday. Now its back to the joys of an English spring and lambing!
