Last weekend’s Borderway Black and White Sale saw one of the greatest consignments of young dairy genetics offered under one roof for some time.
Top price was 14,500gns for Riverdane Outside Beauty. She is a daughter of Riverdane Stormatic Beauty EX90, she has a pedigree that speaks volumes, by the All Britain senior two year old in 2006 and goes back to Rainyridge Tony Beauty EX a Supreme Champion at World Dairy Expo in 1999 as a 14yr old cow. She was knocked down to R and E Butterfield from Ingleview Holsteins, Lancashire.

Selling for 10,200gns was Denmire Shottle Marie, a stylish heifer from the infamous Marie family. She goes back to Tab Marie EX94 and now joins the breeding program of A Bunting and Son, Midtown Farm, Dumfries.

Selling for 7000gns was one from the Red and White line of Lavender Redrose. Absolute J Bob Speckle Red from Graham Kirby now heads to Roston Partners, Winsford.
At the same price tag was a daughter of Bolton out of Windy-Knoll-View Promis EX95 consigned by Overside Holsteins. She was purchased by Aintree Holsteins, Shordly Hall, Flintshire.

Top Price Jersey was consigned by Mark Shadwick of Skyhigh Jerseys. Skyhigh Resurrection Veronica is by Rapid-ay Resurrection and out of Skyhigh Centurion Veronica, a three times World Dairy Expo champion. Likely to be a show contender for the future, the heifer was knocked down to Willy and Jo Templeton, Syke Farm, Ayrshire for 5000gns.
Robert Hunter from Clydevalley Jersey sold a strong two year old in milk, sired by Lester Sambo from the Leaf family. This young animal joins Emma Murray’s herd, Wolverhampton for 2,300gns.
Embryos
The two first choice heifer calves also attracted great interest from the Royal Champion and from Savage Leigh Zenith Liz. The first was a 1st choice heifer from Almond Stormatic Avis EX90 this year Royal Champion. This lot brought 6000gns going to Weeton Holsteins.
First time consignors Willy Glen and Louise Holt of Distinctive Holsteins sold a 1st choice by Shottle from Savage Leigh Zenith Liz VG89. This exciting option sold for 7000gns to David Yates, Meiklefirth Holsteins, Castle Douglas.
