Taking all bets on Newstart sale today

Anticipation is likely to be mounting in the minds of many pedigree Limousin breeders this morning regarding Mary and David Cormack's Newstart dispersal.

The obvious choices will be last year's Royal Show champion Newstart Upsydaisy - the Ronick Iceman daughter. Her heifer calf won't be too far behind her in the sale stakes either -Buddleia.

Along with many others I'm sure, I don't think I would be wrong in predicting Peter Smith's phone will be a little hot today, unless he is gracing Borderway Mart in person!

Others jumping out of the catalogue are Newstart Tansy and Newstart Uptowngirl, both of which are out of the famous Sarkley Nellie (also for sale).

One thing is for sure, if you were looking for some quality bloodlines with good maternal figures, you wouldn't be far wrong taking home a Newstart female. If my hand was raising today I wouldn't mind having a stab at Utopia (a 2003 bred Iceman Daughter with heifer calf at foot) or even Ukelle (out of Ryedale Flute and with a calving value of +3 and breeding value of +28).

Watch this space.........I'll keep you updated throughout the day of course!

Miss Wales:

We're unable to get to the newstart sale - so please keep the info coming.

Really think that the idea you've got of keeping the blog updated is fab! Really good idea.

Thanks again!

Will do - sale starts at 12.30pm and then of course the Lumbylaw sale follows. I can't guarantee pix too soon as that depends on technology for my photographer - but we'll do our best!

Thanks for the comment

Chrissie
