Thrunton take top Charolais ticket

Judging has just finished in the Charolais bull classes and it was a winning day for the Campbell family of Thrunton, Alnwick.

Taking the intermediate and overall champion for Colin and sons Ian and John was Thrunton Bonjovi, by Solwayfirth Union and out of homebred dam Thrunton Odaisy, herself by Haymount Jetstream. Thrunton bulls have a habit of making top money here at Perth, so we'll just have to wait and see if the addition of a championship rossette adds to Bonjovi's value.

Standing reserve overall was the reserve intermediate, Hamish Goldie's Goldies Bandit. This one is by Balthayock Ulex, which goes back to the legendary Dingle Hofmeister, and out of Kinclune Primrose.

And, proving that Taking Stock's predictions are holding firm this week, Neil Caul's Balnuith Brutus, took the junior championship ahead of Archie and John MacGregor's Allanfauld Bobo.

Top spot in the senior classes went to Caylers Blake, from Caylers Charolais, with reserve going to Ian and Dot Goldie's Solwayfirth Bucaneer.

Pictures to follow later.......
