Bakewell limousins top 2500gns

The North Wales and North West Limousin Breeders Club held its spring show and sale at Bakewell where bidding twice reached 2500gns.

The day’s champion, Coachhouse Barrister from Retford, Nottinghamshire breeders Heald and Co, shared the top price. By Haltcliffe Picasso, he stayed in Derbyshire with buyer D Holling, Huthwaite.

The Heald partnership also collected the reserve title with the Bailea Ulsterman son Coachhouse Baron. He also went to Mr Holling at 1900gns.

A late entry from well known farmer Billy Wright, Chesterfield shared the top call making 2500gns to D Critchlow, Sheen, Derbyshire. Shropshire breeders J S Vance and Son offered a “choice” of one of three in-calf heifers from their Winington herd – but buyer Terry Thompson,
Sheen decided to take all three at 2050gns apiece.

Averages: eight bulls £1979; five females £1570 and 20 youngstock £954. (Bagshaws).
