Balmoral dairy championship clinched by Holstein

Picking up the Balmoral Show interbreed dairy championship was the Holstein leader, Claboye Champion Willow, from Clanboye Estates. By Calbrett-1 H H Champion and out of homebred dam Clanboye Storm Willow, Champion Willow gave 11,535 litres in her second lactation and is currently in her third.

Reserve to Champion Willow was the Jersey champion, Potterswalls Connection Lady from the Fleming family. This one is by Giprat Belles Connection and out of Mooncrest Imperial Lady. She gave 6332 litres in her first lactation and is now giving 35 litres a day in her second.

 

TSDairy Reserve001.JPGElsewhere in the dairy section the reserve Holstein went to S and J McCormick with their second calver Hilltara Champion Echo by the same sire as the champion and out of Hilltara Journalist Echo.

Standing reserve to Connection Lady in the Jersey classes was another from the Fleming Family, this time Potterswalls Paramount Glamour. By Rockella Paramount, Glamour is out of Brenwood Top Prize Glamour.

The Ayrshire championship went to John Suffern with his third calver Ravenhill Tulip, with the reserve championship going to J and M Hunter's second calver Ardmore Janet 59.
