Lancaster Holsteins sell to 2800gns

Carl Smith of Inspired Holsteins claimed top price at the May Lancaster Sale with a fresh heifer Inspired Chapter Jolene PI. She is bred from 3 generations of Ex cows and sold four weeks calved giving 31kg. Aubrey Greenhalgh made the winning bid of 2800gns for D C Hall.

The champion heifer, judged by Charlotte Berry, came from Messsrs D J and S Tomlinson made 2400gns to a telephone bid from Steve Miller of Shanael Holsteins in Worcestershire.
Bilsrow Starshine Lavender was four weeks calved and producing 40kg a day.

The Miller family also purchased Corfield Geno Arlene 4 PI VG-86, the 1st prize cow and reserve overall champion for 2000gns.

Cows peaked at 2100gns for Kirkwood Integrity Flora GP-83, the top yielder in the sale giving 51kg daily. Buyer was J A Gardner.

Averages:cows £1707; heifers £1988.
