Wharfedale dairy farmers A Lawson and Son won their first Craven dairy Auction Championship at Skipton Auction Mart as well as taking home reserve champion.
Securing the title for the Lawson's was a newly calven home-bred pedigree Holstein Friesian heifer, which had produced 10 days before the show and was giving 34 litres.
The champion by the Genus sire Sinatra, registered the day's top price of £2000 acquired by the show's judge, Richard Wood, Keighley.
Reserve champion, also a daughter of Sinatra and producing 30 litres seven days after calving, sold for £1550 to Peter Sutcliffe,
Regulars to the Auction, father and son duo Raymond and Robert Johnson, Harrogate got third prize for their newly calven heifer, achieving second top price of the day at £1800, by David Smith, Poole-in Wharfedale.
Newly calven heifers averaged £1583, newly calven cow £1390 and incalf cows £1190.
