Do we need it - yes I beleive so !

How do we regenerate it ?? From the heart out ie the Livestock.

Exhibitors, RASE, Breed societies, Livestock related businesses and the International Agri business world must all come together to thrash this out and plan to put on again/revive a NATIONAL BREEDING CATTLE SHOW IN THE HEART OF THE COUNTRY IN THE MIDDLE OF THE YEAR. Where else can the whole country meet to compete in a NATIONAL STOCK CHAMPIONSHIP - Cornwall v Scotland; Kent v Wales ETC, ETC.

What do you all think out there - lets really get a movement going to revive the event around its heart which is still trying to beat - the livestock. !!

Moo Lab:

Well im not sure if we do need the Royal!

The way they treated exhibitors this year and the lack of decent facilities why should we keep going back just because its called the "Royal".

All they care about is poncing about in the bowler hats and not listening to the people that matter

Give me more good reasons why we should go back??

Moo Kat:

The comments I heard as I was walking around a very disappointing show, were not very productive. In fact I would be surprised if there was a "Royal" at all next year!
They need to be careful as there are many smaller shows which will turnout to be far better and treat all exhibitors with due care and attention they deserve.
I would rather spend my money on the smaller shows from now on and forget the "Royal".
What a waste of time and effort!

Baby Limmie :

I think there will be a Royal because RASE are determined to keep pushing down the energy/water route that they will concentrate on that and forget the exhibitors!

The only one thing the Royal impressed me on was the ability to get livestock results on line quickly - but that could be due to the lack of animals there!

I had a glorious two days at the Great Yorkshire Show this week and RASE could learn a hell of a lot from that events and their stewards - it's rural throughout and I can't remember seeing any tatty stalls, guys selling bath towells at knocked down prices or dodgy floor mops!
