Following a successful show season all summer Kevin Ludgate has done the double in the Royal Show rings under judge and butcher Michael Alford, Somerset.
The champion ticket went to the British Blue heifer Wilemina, led out by Kevin's partner Dawn, while the reserve ticket went to Kevin's other successful show animal and British Blue cross Big Bum, who has notched up a collection of winning tickets this year, she was shown by Ben Maskell.
Taking the steer class was Richard Naylor's Limousin steer Mr Mallarky, a steer who won early on in the season at Newark.

Sounds like a couple of worthy winners?
Hard to keep the scotties down again - how's the bullock looking - he was a fair lad back in February when he was bought up here.
Glad for Richard as he's been at it for a few years now but even more pleased for Kevin (Mallarkey)who the steer came from, as he's a master at digging them up and turning them oot!

Yes the steer looked well out, I didn't see him in the flesh at Newark, but he looked good yesterday. Very nice heifer of Brooks' as well, but that stood further down the line than I thought!
