Taking Stock is leaving the building

Well after a hectic three days that's it from the Royal Welsh for the Taking Stock team (well not much of team as there's only two of us).

It's been a cracking show with some excellent stock on parade in all sections, notably the sheep and I was particularly delighted to see Roland Williams pick up the reserve interbreed sheep title with his Southdown shearling tup. Many moons ago in a previous career I helped Roland buy some of his original ewes, so it was particularly pleasing to see him do so well.

Now we're heading off, but unfortunately its not homeward bound, we've a day in Cumbria tomorrow and then we head north of the border to Edinburgh for the Suffolk sale, so keep an eye here on Friday for a full live report from ringside.

A job well done chaps!

Tremendous output of commentary - a big investment of time and effort - well done!

Thanks for the kind words, it helps keep us all going to know the service is in demand.

Rest assured we'll be providing coverage from all the main sales this autumn, live from the ringside in many instances so you'll have no need to move from your chair, barring fetching the next cup of tea or something stronger should trade be that good!

another top effort - keep up the good work!

any buzz around about the Suffolks at Builth?

Just managed to get a connection here in Edinburgh and Robbie Wilson from Strathisla has taken champion with the same lamb he won the Highland with, a fair lamb, maybe a tad short and raw, but that's only my view!
