Strong ram trade at Bentham

Suffolk rams were in strong demand at Saturday's show and sale of rams at Bentham Auction Mart. Demand outstripped supply resulting in a virtual complete clearance. Top price Suffolk shearling made £920 shown by Messrs G and A Fort of Keighley.

 

Photograph 3.JPGOverall average for Suffolk Shearlings £404.14 while lambs averaged £262 to a top of £380 also from G and A Fort.

 

Beltex rams dominated the Continental breeds where Daniel Towers of Wray realised £1150 for his first prize Shearling and £1200 for a two-shear ram.
