4800gns top call for Holstein bulls at Moira

Holstein bulls hit a high of 4800gns on Wednesday at Moira, Northern Ireland, and no fewer than eight sires sold for 4000gns or more.

Leading the trade was Glasson Taylor from Philip and Simon Haffey, Portadown. A Talent son out of Copywood Integrity Sara Red.

Next best was 4700gns for Relough Rodrigo from the MacLean family for a Duplex son out of Freelance Roxie.The family also sold the next top at 4600gns when trading Relough Dyson. This one is a Toystory son out of Dante Danna.

Selling at 4400gns were Messrs W and J Crawford with their Drake son Ardmore Joshua who is out of Lee Vixan.

Two bulls then sold at 4100gns, the first was Ards Rebound a Golddwyn son from H Patton and Sons out of Lancelot Ruth and the second was Bankville Radiohead, a Duplex son out of Destiny from J and H Johnston.

Sqauring off the bids of 4000gns or more were two sales at that money. First up was Jim Morrison selling the pre-sale show champion Inch Gorton. This one is a Goldwyn son out of Daphne.

The second at this level was David Perry's Killane Energy. This one is by Mascol and out of Elegance.
