Clearance of Charollais ewes at Builth

Keen interest and excellent clearance was seen at the 11th production sale of pedigree in lamb Charollais ewes held at Builth Wells on behalf of Tim Pritchard, Messrs Arwyn and Jane Thomas, Mr Dilwyn Davies and several guest consigners.

 

RESIZE charollais 1.jpgTopping the sale with a price of £2940 was a ewe consigned by Arwyn and Jane Thomas. She was a daughter of Galtres Dominator, the ram who has sired many prize-winners and in lamb to Southham Flagship, the high index ram.

 

She was purchased by John Davies, Stoke on Trent, who also bought the second highest price £2730 for a shearling consigned by Tim Pritchard, who sold his consignment of 17 to average £1011.

 

The sale saw 11 shearlings sell in excess of £1000. Older ewes sold to £840 for two shears again from Tim Pritchard.

 

Ewes lambs consigned from Dilwyn Davies sold to £273.

59 shearling ewes £733.93; 14 two and three shear ewes £456; 4 ewe lambs £210
