Flying trade was seen at Lancaster's dairy sale, with every milking cow cashing in excess of 1000gns and 12 making 2000gns and more.

Topping the trade at 4000gns was the smart reserve champion heifer from the Vaakje family and from a homebred bull. Consigned by James Burrow, she was purchased by an undisclosed buyer.

Wilson Boow consigned a large and powerful heifer, Dunnerdale Sam Sabrina 5 of superb pedigree to win the Championship and was sold giving 41kg for 3200gns.

Robert Butterfield showed a handsome cow to win 1st prize - Ingleview P SS Dandy GP-84, selling through the auctioneers for 2,800gns just 10 days calved with her 2nd calf.

Making up over half the sale was Brian Brumby of Ballakillingan Farms and Ashley Kinvig of Sandash Holsteins from the Isle of Man. All cattle were sold with several topping 1800gns with a peak of 2,300gns for a VG-86 heifer by Canyon-Breeze Allen.

Averages:         15Cows £1830; 37 Heifers £1868; 52 Head £1857; 2 Calves £ 987
