Welsh Black females in demand at society sale

Females were in demand at the Welsh Black Cattle Society's pedigree show and sale, Abergavenny. Of the 17 animals entered into the sale 16 of those were sold to an average of 840gns, with females averaging 921gns.

 

Topping the trade was a two and a half year old in calf heifer, Alltgoch Del 42nd bred and sold by Dylan Morgan, Talybont for 1350gns. She was bought by Mr A B Stichcombe, Abergavenny. Mr Morgan also sold a further in-calf heifer Alltgoch Ruth 55th to Mr Stichcombe for 1000gns.

 

A seven year old cow Wye Janet 4th with its seven month old bull calf Tir-Llwyna Joseff  consigned by Mrs J Carter sold for 900gns to Messrs A Allen, Tenbury Wells. Mrs Carter also sold a further two cows with calf at foot averaging 800gns.

 

Maiden heifers topped at 740gns for Ty Talgarth Julie consigned by Mr Jonathon Pugh, Bridgend. Certified organic the cow was bought by Messrs A Allen, Tenbury Wells.

 

Bulls topped at 750gns for Alltgoch Banner, consigned by Dylan Morgan, Alltgoch and bought by Tim Frost, Northampton.
