Sheep judging has also been cracking along, with both purebred and crossbred classes taking place through the day.
In the fifth butchers lamb class top spot went to P and C Houldley with their Texel crosses at 94kg, with second spot going to John Hall with a pair of Beltex sired lambs at 92kg and third going to R W M Gittoes with a 97.5kg pair of Beltex crosses.
In the untrimmed class first place went to G and S Davies with their Beltex crosses weighing 90kg, second was Lewis Edwards with a 97kg pair of Beltex crosses and third was J McAree with a 70.5kg pair of Beltex.
In the purebred classes there was fierce competition for the prize tickets. First place in the Black Welsh Mountain class went to Bryn and Glenda Hughes and daughters with a pair of 70kg lambs, while second went to D and R Rowlands with a pair weighing 76.5kg. Third spot in this class was taken by G and E Lloyd with a duo weighing 76kg.
There was a massive entry in the Badger Face Welsh Mountain class with D and R Rowlands reigning victorious with their 68.5kg pair. Second place was Neil Dillon with a lightweight pair at 60kg and third was E O Williams with a pair at 72.5kg.
In the Balwen class it was the turn of Mr Williams to take top spot with his 57.5kg duo, while Rhys and Aled Groucott stood second with a 59.5kg pair and D P Jones took third place with a lightweight pair at 46kg.
Neil Dillon was back in action in the last of the Welsh Mountain classes with a 73kg pair. Second place went to J and M E Price with a pair weighing 77.5kg and third was Eifion Hughes with an 88.5kg pair.
The Jacob class was led by G and J D Philips' with an 85kg pair, while D T P Lewis took second with an 83kg brace and third was D J Price with a 75.5kg pairing.
Ronald Jones led the way in the Beulah Speckled Face class with an 87.5kg pair. Second place went to D G Davies with a pair weighing 83kg and third was Linda Western with a heavier duo at 93kg.
