British Blue cross wins Hull Christmas Fatstock

Taking the silverware home from Hull Christmas Fatstock show and sale on Monday was J L White and Son, Eastrington, Goole, wholese British Blue cross heifer tipped the scales at 565kg and sold for 250p/kg to the show's judge Sturat Voase of Alan Jones Butchers Shop, Preston.

Another British Blue cross took the reserve spot as well, this time from T and B Boothroyd and Son. This steer weighed 595kg and sold for 208p/kg to Propameats, Hull.

The best pen of pigs went to J W Evison and Sons, Fitling, whose pen of five cutter pigs sold to Tom Wallis of Ye Olde Pork Shop, Beverley, for 145p/kg. The reserve pen of pigs came from ACMC Ltd, Beeford, who sold for 118p/kg to Ted Dillon, Hull.

Taking the sheep championship was Oliver Bros, Little Weighton, whose pen sold for £70 a head to Tom Wallis. The reserves came from P Farmery, Sandholme and sold for the same money to Ted Dillon.
