Last cattle results for today at Royal Welsh Winter Fair

Here are the final results from today at the Royal Welsh Winter Fair. Leading the way in the second Limousin steer class was Emily Jones with 578kg Dylans Boy, second was T C Edwards with Wawwi which weighed 570kg, while Emily Jones was third with Barcardi Boy at 574kg.

In the third of the Limousin steer classes R W, M L and A W Williams took top honours with Rhacsyn at 628kg, with B G Price taking second spot at 608kg and third was G R Fountaine with Just Amazing at 606kg.

The final Limousin steer class went to Glyn Owens with 700kg Tommy, second was B G Price again with Red Star at 668kg and third went to T C Edwards with Mr D C.

The smart money for tomorrow is, I'm told, on Phil and Sharon Sellers with their Charolais heifer Chardonnay which won the first class of the day. She is they say the right weight and type for the judge.

And, bearing in mind that the judge tomorrow is the man that bought Robin Roberts Charolais heifer Smarty Pants at last week's Royal Highland Winter Fair, those in the know may just have a point. However, I'd still not lay big money against one of the British Blue sired steers from Tecwyn Jones being close to the top.

Among the sheep it could be anyone's day with several leading names picking up red tickets in various classes. Today's most prolific winner is Linda Western and I'd say she's a pair or two which could go close, but I'm reckoning on a pair from the Houldley's being on top come the end of play tomorrow.

I've a few other results from the cattle and sheep sections still to come, but rest assured I'll get them up first thing tomorrow before things get busy.......
