The prime sheep trade has really gone into overdrive this week, following on from the £84 trade at St Boswells on Monday and £88 at Skipton on the same day, Tuesday night saw them hit £94.50 at Kirkby Stephen on Tuesday evening.

The sale toppers were Texels from R Wilson, Low Field, Appleby, but they weren't the only ones to top £90, with more Texels, this time from Newlands reaching £90.80/head.

Among the other breeds Suffolks topped at £83.80, Hill Cheviots made up to £78.80 and Swaledales hit £64.80, as did Rough Fells.

Cull ewes were also dearer with Bluefaced Leicesters hit £65 and Texels reaching £62.80.
