Chelford Beltex females peak at 720gns

Among the Beltex on offer at Chelford last weekend the best of the trade was for a ewe from the reduction of Marshall Farms' Lamberhurst flock. Their best was a 720gns sale for a Northern Beltex Jack of Hearts daughter, Lamberhurst Kelci.

 

Lot 103 blog.jpgThis one is out of a Challanger Ultimate sired dam and in-lamb to Northern Beltex Loads A Money, she joins Graham Sinclair, Carsphairn, Castle Douglas.

Second top here was the pre-sale show reserve champion from Alex Gibson, Meikle, Ayrshire. Sired by Brickrow John Deere and out of an Elbert sired dam, Lugate Kay sold scanned with twins by Hawkwing for 700gns to Hugh Williams, Llangadog, Dyfed.

Lot 121 blog.jpgBest among the Beltex shearling ewes on offer was a 600gns sale for one from Alan Jackson's Headlind flock, Lanark. Headlind Levy is by Duke of Flanders, the Royal Highland Show champion, she was sold in lamb to The Sub and headed to Christine Williams and Paul Tippets, Shifnal, Shropshire.

Beltex ewes £358.57; Beltex shearling ewes £318.71; Beltex ewe lambs £333.90.
