Cows and calves to £2700 at Carlisle

Commercial heifers and calves sold to a top of £2700 at Carlisle on Friday when Messrs McAllister, West Thomaston, Banknock, traded a British Blue heifer and calf at that value.

The seven  forward from the McAllisters levelled at £2300, including Limousin heifers and calves at £2600, £2500 and £2250 and another British Blue at £2300.

Other highlights included Bazadaise heifers and calves selling to £2100 twice for Gelt Hall Farm, while cows and calves peaked at £1950 for a Limousin from Howgill Foot.
