Huish L1, a tup lamb from David Rossiter's Huish flock-based at Kingsbridge, south Devon, has been selected as Centurion Reference ram for 2009 for the Poll Dorset sire reference scheme.

Centurion selection day - March 09 Robert Hole (Left) with David Rossiter (Right).JPGHuish L1, pictured in the foreground, is ranked fourth from more than 4000 Dorset ram lambs within Signet's National rankings is also in the top 1% of the breed for terminal sire traits. Signet breeding specialist Sam Boon says the ram is an excellent example of what can be achieved through selective breeding. More than 25 tups were put forward on the selection day, most of which had EBVs in the top 10% of the breed.

Sherbourne L127 from Robert Hole, pictured in the background was the group's second choice tup of those forward.
