New national show to replace the Royal?

| 2 Comments | No TrackBacks

Word has just reached me that a meeting is planned for next week for beef breed societies to discuss the possibility of organising a new National Show to take the place of the English Royal.

Apparently the NBA are behind it, but details are unfortunately sketchy at this point, but I'll investigate further tomorrow and let you all know what I find out. I just hope they don't try and do a beef show and forget the dairy, sheep and pig side of things, breaking up the species would be a disaster as far as I can see and help no one.

Not surprised to hear this, it's got to be good news. Surely the NBA can set the wheels in motion and something positive can come out of this sorry mess??!!??

Apparently they want the breed societies to bank roll it - and they're not too willing from what I hear. As I say it will only work if its a national livestock show, sector specific shows will be a disaster before they even get going.
