New site offers Angus delights

In a bid to keep breeders abreast of the latest news the Aberdeen Angus Society has launched a new website under the stewardship of brand development manager Chrissie Lawrence (she learnt all she knows on Taking Stock!).

The new site, designed by Cambridge-based Honest Ideas, is intended to be a market leading pedigree website, but with a difference. This new site is incredibly news driven with a strong community feel, explains Chrissie.

Homepage (2).pngIt also has a dedicated consumer area which will have a far greater focus on supermarket and retail stories, recipes and customer interaction.

Also new is a dedicated youth development area. "Since appointing Gayle Bersey as a new youth development administrator the Society has great plans for the programme, so having an area to cover events and features on members and trainers is a great addition," Chrissie adds.

Of less interest to Taking Stock fans though will be the new blog-style reporting of the main summer shows and sales, you can of course keep up to date with all the news right here!!

Miss Wales

Have to say that I am impressed with the new angus website, it is very easy to use & bright & fun... maybe some of the other breeds could learn a few things from it!

Chrissie

The cheek of it Jonathan Long! Thanks for the comment Miss Wales - we're really pleased with it and hopefully most of our members are too! As for Jonathan's comments about not being interested in the blog style reporting - I'm sure he can link to the angus site when things get really tough!

Oh and I remember teaching you about Taking Stock.........

MT Jonathan Long

Me thinks it could be two way blog traffic - after all I'm sure the Angus guys will want to know how the other breeds are getting on.........Maybe you could start this week by linking to coverage of the Lim sale at Carlisle, then again maybe not!

Chrissie

ermmmmmm not sure on that one! I thnk there's room for two of us....but only two!

I'm really looking forward to seeing this site develop over the coming months especially throughout the show season. It has certainly raised the bar for other breed societies (and breeders)to follow suit. Well done!

Angus Dreams

Its about time the Angus Society pulled thier finger out and moved into the world of internet and interactive discussion!! The new site is brilliant a chance for people to comment and give feed back to the Society, we can now hope that these peole incharge take note of the comments and move the Angus breed forward.

Show Time

I agree Chrissie has done a great job with the website and i think with her and Gayle leading the Angus Youth Programme we will see great things.
Like Angus Dreams said it is about time this versitle breed moved forward

Cornish Cowgirl

Really impressed with new site, good to see Angus Society leading the way forward in terms of its web offering, plenty to interest all ages, certainly not frumpy and tired, as it used to be. Well done all involved I shall definitely be a follower of the new site.
