Calves fly to £560 Carlisle

Young calves were in hot demand at Carlisle yesterday where British Blue crosses from Messrs Riley, Grasmere, led the trade at £560.

Taking this top call at just 24 days old was a British Blue sired bull calf.

Among the black and whites, the top call of £200 was given for a Holstein from Messrs Westmorland, Sprunton.
