Dunwood Holsteins sell to 2600gns top

Last week's sale of the Dunwood herd of Holsteins for Peter and Gwyneth Pearson, saw bidders pack the ringside at Beeston Castle eager to secure these commercially bred lines.

Topping the trade was a 2600gns call for Dunwood Shottle Ros. This Picston Shottle daughter  was due with her second calf at the end of the month and sold to G F and B J Beeston, Adbaston, Stafford.

Three then sold at 2450gns, all three being milking heifers due with their second calves later in the year. And, remarkably, all three sold to David Gray, Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire. These were, Dunwood Melody Emerald, Dunwood Melody Joyleen and Dunwood Shottle Ulrika.

Then at 2400gns was Dunwood Meadowlord Nadia. This one headed to a new home at Holmes Chapel with J A and J C Sherwin. And at the same money was another of the herd's Shottle daughters, Dunwood Shottle Isadora. She was claimed by G Thomasson, Whitchurch.

A final transaction at this money came for Dunwood Mike Luciuda, a GP83 classified daughter of Lucky Mike. She joined the wagon home to Bedfordshire with Mr Gray.

Three also sold at 2300gns, with the first being Dunwood Melody Farida. This Moet Melody daughter sold to Harrison Partners, Macclesfield.

Second to sell at this money was Dunwood Roylane Britt, a Roylane Jordan daughter out of Dunwood Hardy Britt, a Moet Kizzy Hardy daughter. She sold to Messrs Beeston, as did the final sale at 2300gns, an unregistered heifer.
