Baileys Suffolks sell to E2800 top call

Top price in the production sale from Tom Bailey's Suffolk flock at the weekend was a E2800 call for a March 2008-born daughter of Rhaeadr Rossi. This one, HJW K96 is out of a Stockton Almighty daughter and goes back to Cairness Court. Sold in lamb to Solwaybank Special One, this one sold to Iain Barbour, Solwaybank.

Next best I know of was a E2600 bid for another Rossi daughter. Out of a Mullanboy Mohammed daughter, HJW K49, goes back to Glenisla Sydney and sold in lamb to Cairness New Approach. She was bought by Myfyr Evans for his Rhaeadr flock, Wales.

And at E1900 was the highest bid from an Eire buyer and the best call of the day from the older ewes on offer. This Glenisla Sydney daughter, DDY C108, is from a dam by Cairness Golddust and goes back to the legendary Pankymoor Prelude. Served to Rhaeadr Rossi, she is full sister to 6500gns sire Glenho Golan and was taken by Jamie Brown, Co Donegal.

Selling at E1800 was another of the Rossi daughters on offer, HJW K33. This is out a Glenisla Sydney sired dam and goes back to the great breeding Stockton Almighty through her granddam which is full sister to E6500 Glenho Jordan. She was sold in-lamb to Cairness New Approach and was bought by Sam Hawkins, Co Wicklow.

Then at E1700 was an ET bred Rossi daughter out of a dam by Almighty, HJW K26. Going back to Cairness Court and in lamb to Solwaybank Special One, she is ET sister to two other lots offered on the day. Buying this one were H H Annett and Son, Widrington, Morpeth.

And a E1600 was one of the earliest lots in the sale, another shearling ewe by Rossi, HJW K10. A full sister to the flock's 8000gns lamb at Edinburgh this year Baileys BMW, this one is out of a dam by Boreland Buddah and was in lamb to Almighty. She sold to Gregor Pendergrast, Co Carlow.

Making E1500 was another which headed back to Wales to Myfyr Evans, HJW K48. Also by Rossi, the ram bred by Mr Evans, this one is out of a Sydney sired dam and goes back to Bridgestone Cannon on her dam's side. This one was sold in lamb to Almighty having been AI'd in August.
