Michael and Melanie Alford, Devon, took the Baby Beef championshipe here at the English Winter Fair this morning with their Limousin cross heifer Poker Face. This one was bred by Christopher Dick and was bought from Caledonian Mart in September.
Reserve here was Keith Harryman with his homebred Limousin cross Ronaldo. This one was champion at last week's East of England Winter Stock Festival.

This heifer is absolute class - I think there was a certain Scottish judge that may have even been tempted to tap her up for reserve female at Agri Expo not so long ago - shame he didn't!! Really stylish well done to the Alford family.
Please note this heifer was bred by Christopher Dick and not the Andersons as previously reported due to a catalogue error. She is by Attila, stock bull for Ian and Wendy Callion's pedigree Lim herd.
Both beautiful Calves,
I thought harryman's steer was fantastic, i would have taken that home if given the choice. When it entered the ring to leaving he looked like he owned the ring, and had a real sparkle about him.
Impressed - look at the harryman steer when it walks away from you - it will never carry it's weight when it's older - legs on it are shocking!
