In-lamb Suffolks top 850gns at Carlisle

Carlisle Suffolk in lamb show and sale saw prices topping at 850gns for a 2008 in lamb ewe from D M Robertson, Hexham. This was bought by A Botherwell, Smithston Farm, Ayr.

 

Email Suff Champ.JPGNext at 700gns was a 2007 born ewe by Cragroe Craftsman forward from Darren Jones, Carlisle, Cumbria. Paying this money was Elaine Wilkie, Lockerbie, Dumfriesshire.

 

Ms Wilkie also paid 700gns for a ewe forward by G and J Soulsby, Temple Sowerby, Cumbria. She also secured a 2008 born in lamb ewe also from G and J Soulsby for 680gns.

 

Another entry from Darren Jones also hit a high of 650gns. By Cairness Classical Creation this one who was first in class 3 was secured by J G Douglas, Fraserburgh, Aberdeenshire.

 

A 620gns bid secured a Laurelbank First Flight sired ewe from Lewis Harkness, Dumfries, which heads home with A Bothwell, Ayr.

 

Two 600gns bids were next in line. First was paid for a Cairness Destiny sired ewe from Darren Jones, Carlisle, Cumbria. This one was secured by J G Douglas, Fraserburgh, Aberdeenshire. Also at the same money was another one forward by G and J Soulsby. This one sold to Elaine Wilkie.

 

Averages 32 ewes, £350.44; 55 shearling ewes, £377.19; 9 ewe lmabs, £445.67; overall £370.72
