The weekly dairy sale at Carlisle saw a large number of cows and fresh heifers forward.

The top call of £1900 went to a Holstein Friesian from Skirwith Hall.

At the next best money was a Holstein Friesian from Forest Hill which sold for £1800. She was closely followed by an entry from Plumpton Foot Farm which sold for £1750.

Among the British Friesians was a £1650 call for an entry from Lake View. Not far behind was another of the same breed selling for £1600 from High Griseburn.
