Carlisle stores sell to £1105

Store cattle at yesterday's show and sale at Carlisle hit a top call of £1105 for a Charolais cross steer from Rose Farm. Others of the same breed sold to £1060 for Sideway Bank.

Limousins from Rose Farm also topped that breed, with a £1060 bid, another from the same home made £1050, while one from Millerhill sold to £1055.

Champion on the day was a Limousin steer by Easegillhead Triumph from the Trafford family, Bassenthwaite Hall Farm, which went on to sell for £1045 to D A Wilcock, Gladden Hay, North Ashton.

Heading up the heifer prices were British Blues from Setterah Park at £995 and £910, while other Blue crosses from Thornsip made £910 and £890. Top Limousin cross heifers were from Roughet Hill at £975 and £945.
