Holstein bulls sold to a top price of 6000gns at Moira, Northern Ireland, recently in Holstein Northern Ireland's 20th spring show and sale.

Topping the prices was the reserve champion from the pre-sale show, Ards Roumare from Harry Patton and sons, Wilson and Wallace, Newtonards. This one is by Roumare and from a dam line yielding eight generations of Ex or VG dams, including a number which have given more than 12,000 litres.

Second best at 4700gns was Relough Ravenite from Ronald McLean and sons Malcolm and Barry, Dungannon. This is a Shottle son out of a VG88 Hartline Titanic daughter backed by four generations of Ex dams.

Then at 3600gns was Ballycairn Oman Emperor from W and A McCollum. This is a O-Bee Manfred Justice son.

At 3500gns was another from McLean family, Relough Alladdin. This is also an O-Bee Manfred Justice son. Six other bulls then sold at 3400gns.

Average; 30 bulls £2835 (R A Noble and Co).
