champion in milk heif.jpgThe first championship title of the day goes to Parkend Jacob Betsy from Brian Weatherup and Partners, Parkend Farm, Cowdenbeath.

This four week calved heifer takes the coveted title of Holstein Heifer In Milk Champion as well as the Avondale Trophy for Holstein Exhibitor Bred In Milk Champion.

Judge Edward Griffiths praised her for her beautiful spin and total balance. "She is full of style in the way she walks and has a fabulous udder."

She is by Bilsrow Jacob and out of the homebred Parkend Dante Betsy and is already giving 40kg milk. And with this her first ever outing, Mr Weatherup has high hopes for her. She will be making appearance at the Highland Show and a few local shows later in the year.

And Sahara Holsteins, Church Farm, Magor followed yesterday's success in the young stock classes by taking the reserve spot. Taking this title was Sahara Damion Tessie - last years Junior Champion. She is by Erbacres Damion and by Wiltor Monty Tessie.
