Lanark Texels hit 4000gns

Texels sold to a high of 4000gns at the second Lanark sale last week, with the top price coming for Culter Allars Sultan, a Tullagh Pacha-sired ram lamb out of a Cowal Ocean Crest-sired dam from Messrs McCosh Bros. He sold to C Angus, Oldfield.

Then at 2600gns was one from Robbie Wilson, Milnbank Storm, an ET bred son of Mossknowe Pudsey out of a dam by Baltier Nijinsky. He sold in a two way split to Gordon Gray, Ettrick, and Keith Jamieson, Annan.

Following that at 2200gns was Mitchelhill Seve, a Glenside Ring a Ding son from A J Kennedy. He’s out of a dam by Baileys Mega and was bought by J A Gibb and Son, Rusha.

And just behind that at 2100gns was Culter Allars Saint I from Messrs McCosh. This one by Cowal Powerhouse and out of a dam by Haremoss Kind O Lucky was knocked down to Keith Hourston, Didcot.

Then making 2000gns was Tima Skype from David, Isla and Lisa Gray. This ET bred Knock Reebok son is out of the same dam as Ettrick Rainbow Warrior and was snapped up by G E Allan and Son, Alton of Bandeath.

Averages; 15 shearling rams ÂŁ422.80, 231 ram lambs ÂŁ462.95, 19 shearling ewes ÂŁ374.68 (Lawrie and Symington).
