Top Quality Suffolks on parade in Carlisle

Suffolk breeders had a good day on Saturday at the annual sale of females at Carlisle with some really classy sheep up for grabs from ace flockmaster Jimmy Douglas (Cairness) as well as strong consignments from John Sinnett (Stockton), Robbie Wilson (Strathisla), W Troup (Whitestone) and County Turf (Hazeltree). Cairness Achievement’s record as the breed’s top sire for the last two years was maintained when an ET-bred daughter sold for the top price of 8500gns to an un-named buyer. Topping the ewe lambs was one from John Sinnett at 2000gns. Full report later. (Harrison and Hetherington and United Auctions).
