Stirling sale witnesses some of highest store prices

Stirling hasn’t only been witnessing high prices at the bull sales but just down the road at Caledonian Marts some of the dearest store trade was witnessed by the centre. Leading prices a head reached £1,210 for a 610kg Charolais bullock from Auchenrivoch, Kilsyth with a Limousin bullock not far behind at £1,195.

Per kg, bullocks averaged 217p up 4p/kg and reached 265p/kg for a pen of four 355kg Charolais bullocks from Eskechreggan, Rothesay.

Heifers averaged 212p/kg up 10p/kg on the last sale with a top price per kg of 267p/kg for a pen of nine 245kg Limousins from Wester Whin, Slamannan with a top gross price of £1,235 for a 620kg Charolais from Mamore, Roseneath.

Bulls were up 19p/kg on the last sale with an average of 205p/kg realised and reaching a top of 227p/kg for three 290kg Limousins from Myothill Mains, Denny and £885 gross from a 450kg for a Limousin from Craighead, Torrance.
