British Blue bulls sell to 7750gns


(hutch)20aS web.jpgSolway View Fandango ET from Kevin Watret topped The British Blue Cattle Society’s sale at Chelford today at 7750gns. Buyer was Andrew Davies, Llandovery, well known producer of cross-bred show calves.


(hutch)75aS webjpg.jpgFemale trade was on fire reaching 4300gns for the female champion Bedgebury Footie from Andrew Price. She goes to the Isle of Tiree with buyer Ian McKinness.

Averages: 52 bulls £3285; 22 females £2580. (Frank Marshall)

    “Trade was on fire” !!! Think the auctioneers were at a different sale to the one i watched !
    Apart from the best male and female entries the trade was at best a damp firework. Reflecting the poor quality cattle forward…at least 10 bulls should never have been entered, I would suggest better slaughtered. One breeder even attempted to sell a clearly lame bull through the ring!
    Until breeders cull harder and only offer the best animals at sales the BB breed will not move forward,
