Top quality lambs forward at Lazonby store sale

A top quality entry of 1,735 lambs were forward at Lazonby Mart’s annual prize show and sale of store sheep.

The pre sale show judging carried out by Mr Tony England, Devon found his champion in a great pen of 30 Texel cross lambs consigned by Messrs Raine, Randalholme, They later went on to sell for the day’s top price of £81 to Mr Frank Thomlinson.

Auctioneers Harrison and Hetherington reported a great run of lambs forward and were “the trade of the season” with the biggest ringside of prospective purchasers ever seen at Lazonby for store lambs ensuring rates far exceeding other competitors.
