Newark Multi-breed tops at 3,800gns

 

The Simmental bull Grangewood Commander topped the multi-breed beef sale at Newark Livestock Market at 3,800gns.

Consigned by Derbyshire breeders Mr and Mrs A Leedham, the March 2011-bred bull is by Dirnanean Salvador and heads for Stoke-on-Trent with buyers A and M Minshall.

 

The Simmental heifer and female champion Midhope Carly from W Hollingsworth, Sheffield made 3,600gns. By Dirnanean Snowy, she was freshly scanned in-calf to Delfur Chas. She goes to local buyers Flintham Grange.

Burghbridge Clinton, a son of Strathisla Julius, was the third Simmental to figure in the day’s top bids. Offered by C Clarke, Otley, West Yorkshire, he made 3,500gns to  M Webster, Nottingham.

The Aberdeen Angus bull Rotherwick Ewan from Hampshire vendor T Foster, realised 3,500gns. By Ardrossan Admiral and out of Hazeley Emulous, he goes to G and M Crooks, Loughborough.
