Champion beast at Abergavenny xmas primestock sells for £2,610
An excellent show of 15 prime cattle forward for the annual Christmas primestock show and sale at Abergavenny Livestock Market on Wednesday 4th December, met a strong trade in front of a packed crowd.
The superb quality cattle were ably judged by Mr Doug Willis and Family, Cwmbran, and Mr James Simmons, Hewlesfield, Gloucester.
The champion beast was awarded to Messrs WCR Cooke and Son, Llantillio Crossenny for an outsatnding Limousin heifer weighing 620kg. She sold to Mr James Simmons for £2,610.
The reserve champion was also awarded to Messrs WCR Cooke and Son, Llantillio Crossenny for their Limousin Steer weighing 610kg selling to Mr David Sevenoaks, Weeks Wholesale Meat, Cardiff for £2,300.
